Our Pastors

Pastor Eddie C. Polite

Senior Pastor

Pastor Eddie C. Polite has been a member of the SDA church for the past 60 years. He is a native of Ft. Hood, Texas, but raised primarily in New Jersey and overseas due to his father’s 35 years of military service. He sensed God’s calling on his life at the tender age of seven. That conviction led him to prepare for ministry at Oakwood College (now University), the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University, and the United States Army Chaplain Center and School.

Pastor Polite possesses a wealth of ministerial experience. Over the past 40 years, he has served the SDA church with distinction as a pastor, evangelist, church planter, military chaplain, church school administrator, conference field secretary, ministerial director, assistant to the president, and a myriad of board and committee appointments within our denomination. Under God, he’s pastored 14 churches and 4 church schools in Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado, including the flagship churches of two different conferences. He has been a featured speaker throughout the U.S., Canada, England, and Europe, and has led hundreds to the Lord in baptism.

Pastor Polite’s passion in ministry is twofold: pastoral mentoring and mission-driven ministry. He greatly values the opportunities he’s been accorded throughout the years to mentor younger ministers in the practice of pastoral ministry. He equally enjoys training local church leaders in how to advance the mission of the church in the context of community needs. Pastor Polite has distilled his mission philosophy in a book he co-authored entitled, Mission Driven Ministry, published by AdventSource. He’s been a featured writer for such church publications as Message Magazine, The Adventist Review, The Southwestern Union Record, and Best Practices in Adventist Ministry. He’s also been the inaugural weekly speaker for the Sabbath worship program entitled, ‘Higher Ground’, on 3ABN’s ‘Dare to Dream’ network.

Pastor Polite has been married to his college sweetheart, the former Donna Walker, for the past 43 years. She is a registered nurse, and the daughter of two denominational workers. They have three daughters, one son, and five grandsons. Two of their children have also served as denominational employees. Pastor Polite enjoys sports, music, history, foreign travel, creative writing, and teaching. His driving motivation in life is “to be a person who makes a difference.” He covets your prayers as he serves and leads the great members of the Denver Park Hill Church.
